About this role:Senior Principal Researchers provide research
and insights that guide C-level executives through challenging
business situations. They generate proven, defensible advice
through our rigorous research processes leveraging a mix of
quantitative and qualitative methods. This role often involves a
combination of working directly with C-level executives, developing
and participating on studies with teams of researchers, and
maintaining a consistent pipeline of publishing or presenting study
findings.This position will support executives in supply chain
functions, including Chief Supply Chain Officers (CSCOs) and Chief
Procurement Officers (CPOs). It is focused on building a deep
understanding of their biggest challenges and developing study
proposals to find innovative solutions to those challenges.What you
will do:
- Develop and execute an agenda of research that solves the
biggest and hardest challenges facing supply chain executives and
their functions. The goal should always be to solve their
challenges in a research-driven way that cuts through ambiguous
business jargon and provides advice that leads to action.
- Use mixed methods to develop provocative and pragmatic ideas
that fundamentally change and improve the way procurement
operates.
- Scope and lead studies or phases of larger studies - this may
include management of other researchers or participating in studies
led by others.
- Convert study findings into content for CSCOs and CPOs that is
insightful, intuitive, and digestible.
- Leverage a broad range of qualitative (interview techniques,
focus group facilitation, secondary research, etc.) and
quantitative (model development, survey drafting, analysis
planning) techniques to efficiently gather data and find
insights.What you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree required, and a Master's/PhD in a social
science preferred
- 7+ years of experience conducting primary and secondary
research utilizing qualitative and quantitative data.
- Strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity in order to
process and understand information quickly, as well as the ability
and motivation to dive into unfamiliar or nebulous business
challenges.
- Strong writing and presentation abilities, with a good sense of
where the line is between technical details of the research vs.
what clients need to know to act.
- Project management experience with the ability to lead, develop
and mentor other members.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback on idea
quality and study direction. We believe insights have to survive
some stress testing and view that as necessary to the overall
process.What you will not (necessarily) need:
- A deep background in supply chain or procurement. The broader
team has many experts with experience working directly in these
functions. This role is primarily for strong researchers that will

reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is
92,000 USD - 131,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary
within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors
including, but not limited to, education, training, experience,
professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition
to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual
bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a
role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition
