• Summary:A Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) at Cook Children's Health Care System utilizes education, experience, and analytical judgment to perform clinical laboratory testing duties. The CLS will work independently to resolve technical problems, making decisions to notify management when necessary. Laboratory and Corporate Compliance are essential aspects of the laboratory environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory testing duties, including waived, moderate complexity, and high complexity tests
  • Work independently to resolve technical problems and make decisions to notify management
  • Ensure test systems are functioning properly and within expected parameters before reporting patient test results
  • Staff hours, rotate temporary on-call, and perform other duties as assigned to meet laboratory and Cook Children's Health Care System goalsRequirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or an appropriate biological, chemical, or physical science
    • Minimum six months experience performing laboratory testing in a clinical setting
